Napa Valley, – There may be lots of enchanted in the world, but few can compare to the Napa which is also home to of the most magnificent resorts in the I think, I read something wine, too.

Speaking of a few weeks ago Volkswagen invited journalists to the Napa Valley to one of resorts to explain some changes and to sample the enchanting Volkswagen line up.

Volkswagen’s big centers around two items. The is the new Generation 3 turbocharged and direct engine that replaces the five-cylinder engine in the Jetta and The other is Volkswagen’s Car-Net™ Volkswagen also had their 2014 lineup available to too, and I had a chance to spend time in a few of my favorite new models.

1.8-Liter EA888 Gen 3 Turbocharged TSI

As far as I’m concerned, turbocharging is one of the elixirs of design. It always amazes me a small little four-cylinder can go so fast and get good fuel too, when it’s Years ago, turbochargers expensive and often didn’t up, but modern designs are even efficient and much more my husband, Bill, reminds me. In the four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged Volkswagen uses in many of cars has been one of our favorite for several years.

By replacing the standard engine in the 2014 Jetta, Passat and Beetle, were actually able to drivability, acceleration and fuel of those models. The new direct turbocharged 1.8-liter engine 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The is the same as the outgoing 2.5-liter but it makes seven pound-feet torque. Fuel economy is up to 17 better with both the and manual transmissions. The new engine’s is due to a reduction in internal friction. The also is 72 pounds lighter.

A Jetta equipped with the new engine and a six-speed automatic now gets 36 mpg on the highway, up from 31 mpg for the engine. City mileage from 24 to 25 mpg, and the overall EPA combined fuel economy is now 29 mpg with 26 on the outgoing engine.

to 60 mph acceleration times for the Jetta manual transmission drop 8.0 seconds with the five-cylinder to 7.3 seconds for the 1.8T – making the new truly a win/win.

VW Car-Net™ Assistance

Volkswagen may be fashionably to the in-car assistance party, but the primping they injected in to the VW was worth the wait. General first started offering the communication systems in 1995 and I considered it one of the better safety offered on a car. Since nearly every manufacturer has offering variations of the service. The system brings new features and to the table in an elegant easy to use

The Volkswagen Eos has features and a cute styling have made it a car I would if I were in the market for a new personal I also would like to a convertible. The retractable hardtop perfect for the rainy Northwest and more secure than the top cars. There’s also a built-in power sunroof to quick advantage of the sun breaks we get Plus if the sun looks like it stay for a few minutes, it takes the top 25 seconds to cycle up or down. The Eos four adults comfortably and has 10.5 cubic feet of space, with the top down.

The Eos also has one of my favorite drivetrains, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and the quick shifting DSG dual-clutch transmission.

The flagship of the sedans was redesigned in 2013 but a few more new features for 2014, standard navigation and the available VW connectivity. A new convenience feature is the easy-open trunk that is by a foot movement.
