First Impressions: 2010 VW 3 door and wagon

The Canadian of the VW Golf family began we left the hotel in downtown headed north west the track at Mont Tremblant. My partner for the day was a Montreal native so our through town in the 2.5L 3 door hatch was a breeze. Our was a Trendline or base model the 5 speed manual transmission. this setup, the 170 horsepower was for zipping in and out of traffic on Montreal’s Rue St Laurent.

I’m not used to riding shotgun, but I the ride comfy enough. The practical thing about little ride is the amount of they’ve jammed inside. We had a VW guy for the ride and he had hopped in to the back behind me. Access to the aft seat bad, even for an adult and seat rider had more enough room to get comfy. We had our bags and coats stuffed in the cargo area with of space to spare. Looking the cabin, the fit and finish would be more than adequate for a car cost twice what one does. For a 3 door hatch rings in at just a tick 20 grand, the interior is outstanding. The squad have used all of lightweight sound deadening combined with an extra laminate windshield to keep and exterior noise down and it has The car is as quiet as a few luxury boats driven costing 3 times as

much. Nice job. the prescribed drive route, we drivers just in time for me to some gentle curves as we got off the and on to the rural roads. The 170 horsepower 5 is smooth silk and offers power throughout all 5 gears of the shifting manual box. The also offers a hint of VW/Audi heritage with a 5 cylinder snarl from the On the open road, the ride is and the handling reasonably crisp.

At the next stop, we switched to the Wagon powered by the 2.0 liter, injected, turbocharged 4 cylinder mated to the 6 speed DSG Automatic While this engine puts out 140 hp, the grunt end of things is after by 236 lb-ft of torque. mated to the DSG (Direct Shift) the Golf wagon has exactly the amount of power on tap at all times. wagon is actually a massaged of the Jetta wagon which is no part of the line up. I drove a version with a manual about a year ago and absolutely in love with

it. I expected to do the same with the DSG car and I was not disappointed. This car has tons of from cargo to seating The interior is quiet and has the fit and finish we expect from VW. Again, the feels like it belongs in a more expensive car. I don’t think there is to dislike about the wagon. the DSG is a really nice piece, I to row my own boat so I would probably the 6 speed manual though say the DSG gets better fuel
