for the Tasman, Nerak!

I agree the qualities of the Salt would a fine hawkbill selection, and one is on my To Get as well. It’s a truly and stain resistant knife, should be easier to maintain. you can selecy Yellow or Black!

As for the Rc tests, I have heard H1 truly takes on mythical when in SE form, and gets which make it an even cutter. A knowledgeable source has this information to me, and I have no not to believe him, although it be a great thing to show so I will show what I Link to page:California University

H1. main

H1 is a stainless steel through a high nickel 6-8% allows age hardening as to the method of soak/quench/temp commonly for most cutlery stainless The main advantage of precipitation steels in general is that can be supplied to a manufacturer in an condition of machinability and then the only treatment required is an extended low temperature soak. This has the near immunity to corrosion has been verified by independent individuals. Some users reported corrosion but it seems to be an with contamination. Spyderco’s H1 have tested in hardness at 58 on the for both plain and SpyderEdge and 65 HRC on the edge of the plain edge and 68 HRC on the edge of SpyderEdge model has been proposed to be due to work Some publically posted data on H1.

personally used in H1.

A plain Pacific Salt in H1 was compared to a and D2 blade slicing used and by adjusting the grit finish of the H1 to a more optimal level the performance was competitive, showing the of edge finish However at the edge grit finish, the H1 had approximately 50% of the sharpness of the S30V after 254 slices through carpet. Comparing the Pacific to a Byrd Meadowlark on cardboad was no significant difference in slicing retention The Pacific Salt was compared to a Meadowlark in 8C13CrMoV and Sebenza (S30V) with edge profiles slicing up and the H1 steel held its own to the 8C13CrMoV and were far ahead of the Sebenza.

The Alantic Salt, which has a profile, used carpet. out cut a edged S30V blade used carpet The Alantic was also used for some heavy cutting, slicing up a belted tire and readily several plain edged in various hard and high steels.

Frank k (Bladeforums also compared H1 to VG-10 on and found a large difference the plain edged blades, times more material cut the VG-10 knife for both edged blades to have the level of blunting. However the edges cut for so long it was not possible to the superority of either

Summary. H1 is a precipitation hardening steel, extremely resistant to fairly tough and ductile for a steel and will tend to plastically rather than when over stressed. The holding in cutting abrasive like cardboard and used will be low compared to high stainless steels like and especially S30V however it it own with many of the softer and wear resistant stainless grades and has much better resistance.
