Less is More // Lasse’s VW Jetta.

Why am I a fan of OEM+?  It really all lies in the to make something factory-fresh, yet at the same time.  The VW is a great place to see examples of styling with plenty of conversions and working factory to create a smooth, OEM look.  To a lot of the VW the goal is to make the car look it came from the factory the fit and finish of the parts, paint, and of execution.  The cars are very COMPLETE builds the interior, exterior, suspension, everything nothing gets over.  When you look at the you can get lost in the details.  Shaving, smoothing, these builds are not about what you see, but you don’t see as well.

Lasse’s MK5 Jetta has the perfect of OEM and custom mods.  To the average it’d be hard to identify this isn’t a mix of MK6 and MK5 Jettas. conversion was carried out in such a way it looks like it rolled off the line like this, and it is impressive.  To my knowledge, this is one of the MK5s I have seen the MK6 front end swap, and it does a job of toughening up that front  All the parts are OE, sourced the Fatherland, and were actually without even knowing if would fit according to Lasse. about having faith!  In the end everything worked and just at the result.

The front-end conversion consists of all the panels from a MK6 2009 the diesel version of the GTI.  A GTD bumper, MK6 hood, adaptive headlights, MK6 GTI grill with GTD and MK6 Jetta Sportwagen fenders up the parts for the conversion.  As mentioned all the parts were ordered not knowing if anything would  Fortunately, Lasse was rather and if it didn’t fit, he’d it fit, but all with a factory-fresh and you can’t deny that he short in that department. exterior is smooth and sporty, and with a healthy slam and a set of wheels, has one intimidating presence.

To bring this sedan to the a tried and true air-suspension was used.  The VW crowd loves their air-ride, and results like this easy to see why.  Also, a little bit easier to fit air on these due to their solid-rear beam meaning the spring and shock are so all that’s needed in the rear is an to replace the spring which it more affordable than a with four McPherson struts.  Up it’s typical business HR coilovers with Universal Air Aero-Sport bags.  Out sees HR struts with Specialities bags.  Management is simple with an analog setup, and a custom tank a single Viar 480cc and SMC valves keep the bags in

Filling up the arches is a set of, what I one of the most timeless wheels BBS LMs.  Sized up at 18×9.5 all the classic 2-piece wheels do a job of fitting the overall look of the  The little details of the also make them out from the crowd.  Red-tipped lug on top of the wheel-stud conversion tie in with the red BBS caps which were because they match the red of the grill.  Remember that I made about the details? there you go.

With a sport and exterior, one would expect the to be the same, but as Lasse says, from another world. the doors open, you’re with a healthy amount of leather and deep walnut  The Europeans love interiors and go pretty crazy their leather and stitching. Jetta delivers in typical with that factory of finish, the only hints the gauges monitoring the air setup in the center console.  Even the touches look factory.

While this might be one of the subtle cars we’ve here on S:N, it doesn’t the car is any less impressive.  It may not be as in-yer-face, but the whole point of the OEM-plus  Nothing is meant to jump out at but you find yourself staring, and the you stare the more you discover. car is all about subtlety and detail. factory-fresh exterior conversion, wheels, simple, air-assisted and detailed interior all executed to the degree of fit and finish are what this car special.  Major to Lasse for his take on VWs 5th-generation  I really love the MK6 front end and it does for the car.  Enjoy a few photos from our photographer who did a great job.  Once hope you enjoyed this as much as we did, and feel to leave a comment below. concludes this lesson in styling.
