We also had a great day at Raceway early in the month the ‘Cruise to the Vees’ run…. sorted out a great spot for us at the end of the front straight, and the classic car action was awesome to see.

My shopping list has handed over, so I’m looking to a couple of major parts in to make the POS that much and race ready!… Looking to some pics from lucky few who are making the trek to the US.

Fairbridge Festival and happenings.

Posted: April 2013 by Humpty

Step up folks, step right Or so the saying goes…. Never a appropriate saying there was for has come to pass this Much has happened, here and some dub related, some but all have most definitely enjoyed by the collective and friends…. notably of which would to be the running of the 21st Folkworld Festival … An event that the and various members of the VW Club of WA been attending for the past 5

This festival hosts the folk, world, blues, and contemporary musicians the world has to This year was no exception… But it all the more enjoyable, the camping is offered, makes it all that more special…. Kim Sherman and his Woody play our hosts year, along with the effort from the organising and the hundreds of volunteers, the VW enclave year we had 25 bus’ parked up in gets to enjoy a massive of events, performances and kookie over a long three day Those of you that have made the festival are missing and should really make the to join us next year.

Those of you that might be bikes will surely seen the event late month at HMVK… This is the time that Brett, Lee and (NoH2O members of old) hosted the event at their and I must say it was huge… I love time there, when I can get out there… The vibe of the place is the creativity and skill, and tlc that into ever project is blowing and a pleasure to witness… guys know what’s Check’em out.

As for projects…. It is sad news that I mention our kid and his recently bent Bug…. has been flying the flag of dubs for these past few Slowly developing his car and his skills the wheel…. His Bug had become a very addition to classic rallies, and hill climb events WA, sticking it to the established classic challenger with his mighty red Dub. Last month, on the of an event organiser down in the west, Chris was participating in a sprint event, when it all unstuck… It was in one of the last turns of the two lap that the car lost traction and into a 4 tonne concrete The car was a right off, but fortunately, walked away from the

The good news is, that a car is in the works as I write this…. I’m over to pick up his new project in the week or so, so Chris can get stuck in the rebuild…

On that note, leave you lot to it…. All the best.

I know…. It’s been a a of months without an update and the be told, I have no excuse…. busy as we all have, even some time for Dub stuff in the too, but not any events…. There has a few, but nobody has been pictures, so I have very to show you all…. Sad really…. But all is not There has been activity…. month I went to Sydney for the Drags, which those of you may have read my report note, was a wash out…. NSW and Qld was hit by storms right at that and the event was called by the track

But all was not lost…. Sure the event was off, but that is not to say the trip was a loss…. I got to hang out with my mates Ben R, Morgan S and Rod P and their families…. Ben was an amazing host the 5 days I was there… We got out to a few VW shops and had a went to a impromptu bbq’s, met of cool peeps, fiddled in workshops and sheds and spent way too time (and money!) at place!

G’s been up to some shit again!… Check out his 13 Winda Lantern !… And lets not the Banana Split project is moving forward well….

And get me started on the Purvis !

Boz and I took the out for a blast down the farm the day…. Not without some problems, but fun none the less…. thing is gonna be a out of control it finds some land fences in the way!

And finally…. Yes I did finally get some numbers with the POS… at 109mph to be exact…. Pretty for a baby 1776 with the cam, too big in the exhaust, turbo and On paper it shouldn’t work, but it does…. So…. Just as I was the power uncorked, the weak let go…. I broke an axle.

to get the new pan, transaxle and engine up!

January is all but gone.

days seem to blur one another don’t they?… It seems like last that I was finishing up at school and my break was about to begin…. No reporting, no more programming, no phone calls to/from no more dealing with the or misunderstandings in the workplace and no more days at school, organising presentations, exhibitions, touring for the school bands or work sundowners. But what do you know!…. The are just about over, and yet I didn’t get everything done I had hoped…. Obviously the clutch up the ghost on the POS was not planned for, and I really planned on making a of the Ghia either, but ya know I’m pretty stoked to get into The new clutch in the POS will handle the the engine is producing with Looking forward to hitting the real soon…. And the Ghia is closer to back on the road, and has got to be a good thing…. I’ll you all on both of those cars month…. But for now, lets on the last couple of months

slowly through the bits I for the car, a heap of nice Reub has left over his old 58, and a good scrub, the car is looking better already…. Plans are to the body from the pan in the very future, and get Johnno to wave his rust remover wand it…. This should go a way to getting the car back on the road in a modified but but essentially stock Looking forward to seeing happens next.

I’ve doing silly things to my lately too… I started on the new Street pan for the POS …. First a massive pie cut was done to the front end to give me 10º of caster…. Then I cut the off the torsion and started on the narrowing and lifting of the suspension…. This sucker is be mad.

And finally we have very sweet Paprika Red … It’s a fantastic story of the kinda…. A very low buck with massive efforts on the of the owner… Jimmy has taken to it big-time elbow grease and hammer, plus all the usual overhaul stuff… The net result is an looking ratter… Be sure to it out.

Hosted by the South NoH2O contingent, and jointly by the NoH2O Collective and the VW Club of WA, event was a big two day affair, with a of cruises, and an eve at the Drive-in and and evening out at the local Caravan Park… bummed that I couldn’t this one, but do my best to be next year for sure!  is loads more pics this amazing event on the Check it out !

Then we had ‘The Collective Breaky’….

Volkswagen Kombi Bus

As an I feel it went very Greg and gang at XWray having us there, with filling the carpark up and putting on a informal show for the cafe I reckon we will make a regular pre-DoVW event in the

Then we had ‘Choppas Drag which didn’t happen on of bad weather… But fear not!…. We are to hit the track this Wednesday with avengeance…. So be there!

The event for us was the NoH2O Cruise to the 2012…

As is tradition, dubbers all corners of the state have short cruise events to the of the Park’ shopping centre We had 14 Dubs leave mine and on Vic Park where at least 15 Dubs waited for us…. So to the show and entering the park caused a bit of a stir… The VW Club handled the influx of Collective with great skill and Well done guys!

And is what greeted us at the show!

a great day out…. Hard to it all, but the thread tells a good tale, and there are of pics for you to peruse… That’s it… all I got…. You wanna know your gonna have to a look at all these stories and more on the forum!

Whilst there, Penrose asked me if I was planning on to Warwick later in the year…. I but he said to me straight up…. If I did go, give me one of his cars to race if I was As you can see…. I’m major wheel mods sizes rims and tyres and rear), suspension and brake that, till now, been impossible to do…. I what you saying now…. what about Choppa’s BD or Army Bus”…. Well Both of those Bus’ been modified and registered, but of them have been certified…. They have through rego because respective mods are on the mild when compared to narrowed and 4WDisc Brakes!…. Unfortunately has not kept the build thread on these upgrades, so your have to take my word for it… a very big thing to have that.

Another new car on the scene is Hotrod inspired late Dave has done a brilliant job on car…. Converting a late Bug to earlier than it is, installing lights, body trims and all in his home workshop…. Event the and paint has been masterfully by his hand…. It’s a stunning car to be
