Yet another CCM issue (Now with more release action!)

So after heavy searching, both and on VWVortex, it’s clear to see topic has been beaten to However I’ve yet to find with quite the same I’m experiencing. I’ve these two threads with issues, but neither one clearly the questions I have in regards to

After battling a water from a disconnected sunroof I found the CCM in our 2004 Passat was fried. No power locks, sunroof, dome lights, Checked all the wiring and splices at 5 times, and it all looked perfectly (aside from being wet ).

Opened up the box under the carpet, quite a bit of water inside, the CCM itself along with the and wiring going up to it showed no of corrosion or damage. Bought a new CCM online, made sure the numbers match (1C0 959 799 C), and put the new one in.

The news: Most everything Windows, sunroof, dome locks. All seem to work The one issue I’ve encountered is the rear hatch no longer properly (at all, really. )

happens, is when I use the trunk on the door, or the button on the keyfob, I a relay click inside the but it doesn’t release the trunk. The doesn’t seem to be shut all the It’s ‘latched’, but it feels a hood after you pull the release. it wiggles about an inch. To fully open it, the way I can is to use the key. Since it’s not latched, I constantly get the message on the saying the luggage compartment is Another bizarre issue, is if I leave it open for a minute or so, and close it, it will actually and then pop open just a sedan’s trunk will, all on its own me pressing anything.

I should note that behavior does not exist I put the old CCM back into the car. — the old CCM will work for the 5-10 minutes of it being to the car, and then it stops).

I took the car to the dealer and explained the to them, and said the new CCM just to be coded. One hour and $99 later, my now works, and the dealer is trying to me my trunk latch is actually I know this isn’t the because it works fine my old, broken CCM in the car.

So what I believe the issue to be: The CCM I online must be from a which have different release behaviors than of a wagon. So the new sedan CCM isn’t along with my wagon’s latch.

I’m thinking I just buy a VAG-COM and rectify myself. I prefer doing of my own work and plan on owning more VWs, so I know it pay itself off. but here’s my

Has anyone else had similar using a CCM from a sedan in a and vice versa? And if so, were you to re-code it to recognize the proper release?

Any help would be appreciated

Update: Pulled the off the hatch this afternoon. All the looks great. No signs of or broken wires. I disconnected the for the trunk release, which the trunk to fully latch and I don’t get the warning in the cluster for it open anymore. However I to use the key to open it, which is only a inconvenience.

Update again: I dug out my old OBD2 cable (that I never got to work before) and Dell laptop and decided to see if I get VDS Pro to let me into the comfort module. and it Which is great, because I was able to do so before.

So now I’m hoping someone out knows what bits in the CCM are for the mechanism behavior, and what the values should be for a B5.5

I followed the walk through to the windows up/down with the key and used the codes recommended for a wagon, thinking they help, but the hatch still the same way. (I can roll my up and down with the key fob though ), are the codes I used.
