I got to fly in a friend#039;s KR2-S tonight. was my write up to the KR guys that me pointers on how to fly one. For reference, it is by a 2700cc Corvair and has the latest including their new airfoil:

it for about a half hour Everything worked as it should

Takeoff was uneventful. Accelerated to 40, brought the tail up,

lifted off at 60ish. Leveled off in ground and

accelerated to 100. Let it climb out at 110mph showing about

The site picture is different than the Sonerai. For

mine is a Sonerai I which is sensitive than a 2 seat

Back to the KR. The nose sits in cruise than I would

expected, but I was only going 140mph. I expect that it be

lower at higher speeds. As far as goes, wow. My Sonerai

is neutral in all axis which it a full time workout

to fly. The KR#039;s yaw stability was the ailerons were heavier

I expected. The pitch sensitivity is less than my Sonerai.

I was that I could actually my hands off of the stick! My SI is so sensitive

I can barely fly it with my left

The first set up for landing I was too close to the on downwind

and ended up going In the SI, I usually fly the pattern at

145, slow to 120 as I turn bleed it down to 100 for the turn to

and 80 over the numbers. With the KR, I the pattern at 120,

reduced to 80 the numbers and put in a the first notch of

I flew a long wide so I could get set up for the runway

better. On my to final, I was going 80 and dropped flaps,

but was too low. I had a bit of trouble my altitude and had no

forward visibility. I put the back in to clear the trees.

clearing the trees, I was going 70. I had the trim set to full

up, a trick I in my Piper Pacer that to make landing

easier. for reference, my Sonerai has no flaps or I held

70 in a gentle descent and the plane on with no flare. I was

surprised that the mains down as soon as they did but

the with the ground was smooth so I the stick forward a

bit and let it roll down the runway braking. Eventually the

speed off and I put the tail down and held it It tracked

straight down the with minimal rudder

In summary, it flew great. The of the Sonerai I and the KR are

quite different and has its place but the KR seems to be a much

to handle on the ground and in the air. My SI however have

much visibility in all aspects of flight though it is a

mid wing. I really like the way the KR and its is much better
