GT28RS Kit for the Audi 1.8T

Audi A4 which has been going along with the testing of the quick spooling kit took an interesting turn

Just for the purpose of data the GT28RS turbo in the GT28RS kit was out for one of Garrett’s newest GT3071R The results were staggering and we found were unprecedented of performance and HP output from the engine, due to the combination of the high wheel profile and the reduced Garrett’s modern wheel proves again that engines can make big HP AND Torque !

As dyno results here over 400 ft/lbs of torque is before 4500 rpm and peak HP is 426 WHP on the (all wheel drive) This equates to over 500 HP at the before the frictional loss the drive line. For this event, we installed our developed 3 exhaust diverter at the 3 section right out of our downpipe. the car was running the 3 downpipe that down to 55mm (2.25) the stock 55mm exhaust but had an exhaust diverter after the down to 55mm. The beauty of the system is it’s entirely actuated, using an actual actuator and only opens boost conditions. During and part throttle driving, the car through the stock exhaust and is quiet and stealthy. When is present and back pressure to be reduced, the exhaust diverter can up the entire exhaust stream in a of miliseconds.

Back to back runs the following ET’s:

12.5 @ 109 MPH

Our 60 ft times went 1.80 to 1.83 — range. We’re finding traction is a real issue now with the quattro as all 4 wheels are off the line and well into the 2nd shift, forcing us to let off through gears.

The next step is to out the stock suspension for something a bit more aggressive in order to and use ALL the power that the GT28RS is putting out.

At this point, we have to with the better suspension and out the extremely heavy S4 wheels for the A4 wheels, will the project A4 run 11 second timeslips?

With the of an 55mm exhaust diverter to the bottleneck of the stock exhaust and a more practice on the launch, we able to get our GT28RS project A4 QT to dip into the 12 second range.
